ACCOMMODATION
The Bedrooms
There are four air-conditioned bedrooms at
Villa Dewi Sri. The Zen
Bedroom is located downstairs presenting a beige and red theme. It is
furnished with a king size bed, an upholstered sofa, a thick pile rug,
an ottoman, a lazy chair and a desk, as well as reading lamps and
standard lamps and bedside tables. This spacious room features a padded
wall behind the bed head, a recycled teakwood floor, and a ceiling fan
as well as the air-conditioning. It is accessed either from the main
garden or from the pool area by sliding glass doors. There is a dressing
area behind the bed with built in wardrobes, lots of storage space, and
a huge mirror. A sliding door leads into a glass-walled air-conditioned
bathroom, which opens into a private, Zen inspired garden. Here, a
large bathtub rests besides sliding glass doors. The bathroom is also
fitted with twin washbasins upon a black marble vanity, a toilet and a
glass sided, walk-in shower. The picture is completed with Romanesque
pillars and a huge wall mirror.
The Tropical Bedroom is similar to the Zen Bedroom with just one set of
sliding doors, which lead to the main garden and pool area. There is a
padded window seat, which doubles as spare bed for a child, and hanging
lanterns beside the bed. A door leads into an air-conditioned dressing
room, from which a set of old traditional Balinese double doors open
into an open-air garden bathroom, complete with non slip floor, and a
bathtub protected from elements by an overhanging roof. There is a
washbasin at both ends, and a toilet behind a glass door. The tropical
garden is planted with shrubs, parlor palms and yellow bamboo. There is a
terrace in front of both of these two bedrooms overlooking the garden
and furnished with all-weather rattan chairs and a table.
The two upstairs bedrooms are accessed from a large, cool and breezy
balcony terrace, with great views. The balcony is furnished with an
antique game table and stools. Both of the upstairs bedrooms are
furnished with twin beds that can be converted to queen size beds. Each
features a polished concrete floor, sliding glass doors, a window seat,
tables and reading lamps. The adjoining dressing rooms are open to the
en-suite bathrooms, and from here glass doors open onto private, roof
top terraces bordered by frangipani trees and palms, and furnished with
sun loungers. Each upstairs bathroom has a cream terrazzo floor, a rain
shower, a toilet and a single washbasin.
Living and Dining
Running the length of the garden beside the swimming pool, the living
& dining pavilion is open to the pool deck on two sides and
partially open to a water cascade on one side. Fan cooled, it features a
polished concrete floor, and is hugely spacious, with an open plan
modern kitchen at one end, complete with a service bar with three
stools. The dining area is positioned adjacent to the kitchen with a
solid teakwood table that seats 12 guests with a bench seat on both
sides, and comfortable upholstered chairs at either end. The living area
is furnished with three deeply cushioned sofas and an ottoman, and six
segmented coffee table blocks fashioned from solid polished suar wood.
This is a great space for parties. The walls are adorned with artwork
and complemented by sculptures, as well as a big screen for playing Wii,
and a music system with 4 speakers. The roof of the pavilion is planted
with long grass, which blends with the environment and is aesthetically
pleasing to the eye. The fully equipped kitchen is open on two sides
and follows a cream and chocolate theme, with an oven and four hobs, a
two-door fridge, and brown marble work surfaces. A guest wash room is
positioned just off the living pavilion.
Family Room
The cozy, air-conditioned, family room is located upstairs and is fitted
with a big screen; surround sound, home theatre, incorporating a DVD
player, and a 49" satellite channel TV. The room is furnished with a
huge L-shaped segmented sofa with colorful padded covers. This room also
doubles as a sleep area for kids, and is well equipped with games,
books and movies.
Facilities
Facilities include a parking area, WIFI internet connection, a computer
in the manager's office and a safe deposit box in each room.
Garden and Pool
At the far end of the living pavilion is a pergola shaded deck with sun
loungers and a sofa and daybed, complete with a living coconut palm
growing through the roof of the pergola. This is a great spot for a
massage. The eye is drawn to the length of the pavilion, the pool and
the garden to the rice field and the irrigation canal bordered by a line
of palms against the backdrop of a lovely rural view. The swimming pool
is 17 x 5 meters in length and ranges from 1.10 to 1.40 meters in
depth. It is lined with mixed green java stone, and there are Jacuzzi
jets at one end of the bench where it gets wider, which are good for a
back massage. There is also an outdoor pool shower, a long flat lawn of
velvety grass, three frangipani trees, and another pool deck at the top
end, furnished with loungers and an umbrella.
SERVICES
Food and Beverage
Villa Dewi Sri's top class chef can prepare anything from snacks up to
five-course dinners, or other requests as required. A full international
menu is available. Breakfast is complimentary, while the full lunch and
dinner service is a dining delight where guests can enjoy all manner of
cuisine in a relaxing environment.
Staff
Villa Dewi Sri is supported by a carefully selected team of highly
trained, friendly staff who will do their best to ensure that their
guests experience a truly enjoyable stay in Bali. The team is headed by a
villa manager who will oversee and coordinate the staff and property,
and is available to assist guests during their stay. The team also
includes an in-house chef, butlers, housekeepers, gardeners, pool
attendants and security guards operating on a 24-hour shift basis. The
chef is trained in the preparation of both local and international
cuisine, and is responsible for all the market shopping, in accordance
with the needs and the whims of the guests. The housekeepers fulfill all
of the housekeeping duties while also taking care of the daily laundry.
Baby-sitting and spa services and the facilities of a car and driver
are also available at an additional charge.
